Beer

 In 1819, Nikolai Sinebrychoff began his beer brewing operations in the Hietalahti section of Helsinki. Since then Sinebrychoff has been a well known, respected and awarded beer manufacturer. Today we are a multifaceted beverage house. We produce many other kinds of drinks, but beer has been the red thread throughout our entire history; for that reason it is a particularly beloved drink for us. Beer accounts for approximately half of our production.

Of our beers the best known are KOFF and Karhu. Besides the two dozen beers in our basic selection, our House of Beer collection offers a wide range of imported special beers. Anyone can therefore find his or her own favourite.

Our beers have been highly successful in international and national comparisons and contests. Sinebrychoff's Porter and Christmas Beer were the only Finnish beers to make the list of the world's 500 best beers compiled by the highly respected beer guru Michael Jackson. Karhu and Koff have also won First Place awards in the world's most prestigious beer contest, The Brewing Industry International Awards.

Finland has traditionally been a beer country. Because beer is manufactured from domestic oats, it can be considered a local beverage. Beer is manufactured from natural raw materials; water, malt, hops and yeast combined with enough professional skill to produce beer enjoyment.

Beer has also finally returned as part of our food culture. Actually beer can be consumed with all kinds of foods when the right beers are combined with suitable foods and ingredients. Beer can also be used in many recipes.

Bringing out the special nature of various beers requires - besides traditions and skills - sophisticated technology. Every beer brand developed by our brewmasters has a carefully guarded production formula. Our selection offers a world of enjoyable flavours for every beer lover.
